Restaurant rapidfire! Quick reviews for fastfood!

C & Dubbs Hamburgers

When I watch Guy Fieri’s show, Diner, Drive-ins and Dives, I think of C & Dubbs Hamburgers. I have been coming here since I was in high school, and the more things change, the more they stay the same here. C & Dubbs have kept their formula to success very simple: 1. serve fresh, delicious food, 2. good hours of operation – stay open late for anyone with the late night munchies and 3. ensure the customers/regulars are happy.  This is a family owned restaurant that has been serving Mississauga for decades.  It started in a small little derelict building with limited seating and a line-up out the front door on Friday nights. Since then, they’ve moved down the street. The restaurant is constantly busy with local grinders coming in to enjoy a meal at lunch, dinner or after a night out of the town.  Their signature dish is their Sumo burger -it is just a monstrosity.  Grilled to perfection on a toasted bun, it ranks very high on my carnivore scale. The Sumo burger is a 1 pound double burger that is only dwarfed by the pile of fresh cut fries that comes with the combo.  Priced at $11.99 (not cheap), yet it is definitely a burger worth trying. For those who dare, there is a Super Sumo burger which is their 1 1/2 pound burger… think triple burger. Another great menu item is their pork souvlaki dinner (pictured) - my personal favourite.  It’s just so damn good, it’s hard to get your head around the sheer size of the plate.  The pork is marinated and grilled to perfection, the salad is dressed simply and their fries complete the meal. If you find yourself in the west end of the GTA, you must really try this legendary local establishment. Bring your appetite!
